Mister Softee on Long Island: From Ice Cream Truck to Brick-and-Mortar

For generations, Long Islanders grew up chasing the Mister Softee truck down the block, waiting for that jingle and a swirl topped with sprinkles. Now, the ice cream giant has given us something even sweeter: two year-round storefronts right here in Suffolk County.

The first shop opened in East Islip, taking over the old Pam’s Ice Cream Shoppe and turning it into a neon-lit, Softee-themed spot serving cones, sundaes, shakes, and even creative twists like crepes and “ice cream burgers.”

Not long after, Mister Softee doubled down with a second shop in Center Moriches, filling the shoes of Ultimate Ice Cream & Ice. The new store kept beloved local traditions like $1.50 cones and Two-for-Tuesday specials, while adding the brand’s signature soft-serve to the menu.

Both locations are open all year long — meaning you don’t have to wait for summer to hear that jingle anymore. It’s nostalgia you can taste, right in your hometown.
